No need for debate over Karunanidhi's statement: Gaud

Indore, Oct 6 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Education Minister Lakshman Singh Gaud today said BJP should not deem it necessary to enter a debate over statement by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi regarding Lord Rama.

''Lord Rama is centre point of Indian culture. We do not have any doubts over it,'' Mr Gaud said to mediapersons here.

He said the BJP did not even consider Mr Karunanidhi's statement even worth giving thought.

Inclusion of chapter related to Lord Rama in syllabus had been proposed by Mr Gaud.

National seminar on LTA technology from October 12-13

National Games to be held in February in Jharkhand

Ranchi, Oct 6 (UNI) The 34th National Games will be held in Jharkhand in February next year, Chief Minister Madhu Koda announced today. As per the original schedule, the event was to be held next month. Mr Koda said Indian Olympic Association (IOA) has given approved to hold the National Games in February. Ex-PM Fradkov named head of Russia foreign intelligence

DUSHANBE, Oct 6 (Reuters) Former Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Fradkov will be appointed head of the country's foreign intelligence service, President Vladimir Putin said today. ''As far as the name of the new head of the foreign intelligence service is concerned, he is Fradkov, Mikhail Yefimovich,'' Putin, who was attending a series of summits of post-Soviet states in the Tajik capital, told reporters.
