No-confidence motion against Jhabua Municipality Vice-Chairman

Jhabua, MP, Oct 6 (UNI) Jhabua Municipality Vice-Chairman Daulatram Bhavsar, who was elected on BJP ticket, was removed from his post by a no-confidence motion.

A no-confidence motion was moved by both BJP and Congress councillors jointly. Eighteen councillors voted in a secret balloting presided over by Deputy Collector G D Gupta. A woman councillor was absent.

The no-confidence motion was passed by 14 votes in favour of the motion and four against the motion.

There are 13 BJP councillors and five Congress councillors in the municipality.

Mr Gupta declared Mr Bhavsar ineligible for the post and announced the seat was vacant.

During the election, Congress and BJP leaders raised slogans.

Police force was deployed in view of chaos.

Orissa seeks Rs 850 cr under NFSM scheme

Bhubaneswar, Oct 6 (UNI) The Orissa government has sought Rs 850 crore for the implementation of the National Food Security Mission (NFSM) in the state during the 11th five year plan period in the state.
