NE Regional RD review meeting to be held on October 9-10

Agartala, Oct 6 (UNI) Union Rural Development Minister Raghuvansh Prasad Singh is scheduled to hold a two-day Northeast Regional Performance Review Committee meeting on October nine and ten at Guwahati.

Official sources said here today that the meeting would review the progress of various rural development schemes implemented in the region and rural development ministers from all the NE states would attend the meeting.

Tripura Rural Development Minister Jitendra Choudhury said the achievements and progress of different schemes would be discussed in the meeting while the progress of the National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (NREGA), Sampoorna Grameen Rozgar Yojana (SGRY), Indira Awaas Yojana (IAY) and Pradhaan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) in the region would be reviewed.

The meeting would also highlight the issue of rural water supply and sanitation programme, Mr Choudhury added.

Bilaspur, Oct 6 (UNI) Keeping in view increased passenger traffic, Ahmedabad-Puri Express will be run on four days a week instead of three days at present. 2843/2844 Puri-Ahmedabad-Puri Express will now leave Puri on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, while on the return trip it will leave Ahmedabad on Monday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday, a spokesman of Bilaspur railway division said. Train derails between Lucknow-Allahabad,traffic disrupted

Lucknow, Oct 6 (UNI) One person was injured and traffic on the Lucknow-Allahabad route was severely affected following derailment of 13 bogies of Varanasi bound 4258 Kashi Vishwanath Express near Kankaha railway station early today. Work was on in full swing to restore the traffic by 1800 hrs this evening, the Divisional Railway Manager told UNI this morning. Law and order collapsing in TN: NCP

Malaysia issues guidebook for Muslims in space

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 6 (Reuters) Malaysia has come up with the world's first comprehensive guidebook for Muslims in space as its first astronaut prepares to go into orbit next week.
