NE investment opportunities week fruitful: Ibobi Singh

Imphal, Oct 6 (UNI) Manipur Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh said the North East India Investment Opportunities Week in Bangkok from October one to four was successful and has opened avenues for trade in region.

The Manipur Information Centre officials here today said Mr Singh and and other officials have wooed investors in Thailand to invest in the state's agro and food industries, horticulture, tourism, power, information technology, handloom and handicrafts during the meet.

Mr Singh also informed that several investors were willing to invest in different sectors in Manipur.

Thailand Commerce Minister Krirk-Krai Jirapaet had also shown keen interest to develop infrastructure in North East India, especially with the trilateral highway connecting the NE with Myanmar and Thailand passing through Manipur.

Wintry conditions prevail, mercury drops to 34.1 Deg C

Bihar CM urges Planning Commission release funds for flood relief

New Delhi, Oct 6 (UNI) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today urged Deputy Chairman of Planning Commission Montek Singh Ahluwalia for the early release of Rs 17000 crore for the victims of the devastating floods in the state so that the relief work does not suffer.
