Kashmir police team probing terrorist links at Manipur

Imphal, Oct 6 (UNI) A team of Jammu and Kashmir Police has arrived here to check the antecedents of a suspected Lashkar-e-Toiba activist from the state.

Official sources here today said the Jammu police were probing into the details of the youth, identified as Md Sadik of Thoubal district in Manipur.

Meanwhile, Manipur police had indentified one of three suspected militants killed on October four here.

Pak Marine Security abducts 16 fishermen

Porbandar (Gujarat), Oct 6: As many as 16 fishermen were abducted by the Pakistan Marine Security personnel from the Arabian Sea, off Jakhao Port. Gujarat Unit of the National Fish Forum Works President Manish Lodhari said the Pak Marine Security personnel abducted 16 fishermen, along with their four boats, while they were fishing in Indian waters on Thursday morning. However, the Coast Guard was successful in rescuing 12 fishermen and one boat from their clutches, but could not freed the other.....

Turkish soldier killed by Kurdish rebels

DIYARBAKIR, Turkey, Oct 6 (Reuters) One Turkish soldier was killed in the southeastern province of Van when Kurdish separatists opened fire on military headquarters, security forces said today. The attack comes a week after members of the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) ambushed a minibus in the troubled region and killed twelve of the passengers. Three Kurdish rebels were killed earlier this week in firefights. Turkey is trying to clamp down on rebel insurgents ahead of harsh winter conditions that brings most.....

Kabul suicide bomb kills 5 Afghans, 1 US soldier

KABUL, Oct 6 (Reuters) A Taliban suicide car bomb killed five Afghan civilians and one US soldier in an attack on a US convoy in Kabul today, officials said. It was the third suicide bomb attack in the Afghan capital in eight days, and comes as Taliban insurgents say they are in the middle of an offensive to coincide with the Muslim holy month of Ramzan.
