Frustrated Jankovic still knocking at Henin's door

STUTTGART, Germany, Oct 6 (Reuters) Jelena Jankovic was left knocking at Justine Henin's door again this week, both on court and off it.

Today, Henin consigned Jankovic to her eighth defeat in the eight matches they have played, the world number one going through 7-6 7-5 to reach the final of the Stuttgart Grand Prix.

Jankovic, the world number three from Serbia, is staying in the same hotel as her great rival and a mix-up with their rooms gave her an idea on how to make the difference this time.

''It was so funny,'' Jankovic said after her latest defeat. ''I was tired the other night and our rooms are next to each other and when I tried the door my card wouldn't work.

''I knocked and walked in and there was Justine, and I said: 'What are you doing in my room?' ''I'd got the wrong one but I thought I could go up there last night with a plate of fruit from room service, just to do something to distract her.'' Joking apart, Jankovic admitted she was increasingly frustrated at her inability to beat the Belgian.

Her eight defeats so far have included the U.S. Open semi-final in 2006, the French Open semi-final this year and the final in Toronto in August.

''I don't know what to say any more,'' she said. ''I've lost to her so many times. If she has a bad day I'll have a chance but she's always ready, always at 100 percent because she knows she has to play really well to beat me.'' REUTERS PDS KP2108
