Four teachers injured as jeep turns turtle

Fatehabad, Oct 6 (UNI) Four school teachers, including three women, were seriously injured when the jeep in which they were traveling turned over after its driver lost control over the vehicle.

The teachers Suman, Sudesh, Satya Rani and their colleague Natha Singh were seriously injured when the Natha Singh, who was driving the vehicle lost control over the steering and the vehicles turned over after skidding from the road.

The teachers were going to Ratia from village Baliala to attend a winter vacation seminar organised by the education department.

In another accident, a motorcyclist Dinesh (22) was killed when his bike collided against a tractor at Ratia-Tohana road.

Musharraf re-elected for second five year term

Islamabad, Oct 6 (UNI) Securing a fresh five-year term to rule Pakistan, General Pervez Musharraf swept today's presidential poll in the absence of any strong challenge to his supremacy. He secured a total of 671 votes from the electoral college, comprising the National Assembly, Senate and four provincial assemblies, while his only rival, Justice (retd) Wajihuddin Ahmad, secured only eight votes. The third candidate, PPP's Makhdoom Amin Fahim, did not secure a single vote as his party boycotted the election......

HC asks J'kand govt to seek report over Karunanidhi issue

Ranchi, Oct 6 (UNI) Jharkhand High Court today granted one week to the state government to seek information from the officials concerned why the First Information Report (FIR) was not registered against Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi for making derogatory remarks about Lord Rama. Justice Amreshwar Sahay passed the order while hearing a writ petition, filed by Ram Subhak Singh, an advocate of Jharkhand High Court. Earlier, Mr Singh had given an application to the Doranda police station here.....

Rights activist approaches court seeking action against Minister

Ranchi, Oct 6 (UNI) With Chief Minister Madhu Koda refusing to take action against one of his Ministerial colleagues for allegedly eating mutton at a public function on Gandhi Jayanti, a human rights activist today filed a complaint against Rural Development Minister Enos Ekka before the Chief Judicial Magistrate here. Mr Ekka had mutton on October 2 after a sports tournament in Simdega district. As various political parties reacted to the Minister's act, demanding his removal from the Cabinet, the Chief.....
