Former Mah CM Babasaheb Bhosle dead

Mumbai, Oct 6 (UNI) Former Maharashtra chief minister Babasaheb Bhosle died after a brief illness at the Bombay hospital here today.

He was 86.

He was admitted to the hospital due to an urine infection.

Mr Bhosle, who was the chief minister from January 22, 1982 to February 1, 1983 will be cremated with state honours.

He is survived by three sons, two daughters and wife.

His son Dilip is a Judge at the Bombay High Court.

No need for debate over Karunanidhi's statement: Gaud

Indore, Oct 6 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Education Minister Lakshman Singh Gaud today said BJP should not deem it necessary to enter a debate over statement by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi regarding Lord Rama. ''Lord Rama is centre point of Indian culture. We do not have any doubts over it,'' Mr Gaud said to mediapersons here. He said the BJP did not even consider Mr Karunanidhi's statement even worth giving thought. Inclusion of chapter related to Lord Rama in syllabus.....

JD(S) should have honoured agreement with BJP in Karanataka: JD(U)

New Delhi, Oct 6 (UNI) Janata Dal (United) today termed the Karnataka imbriglio ''unfortunate'' and said the Janata Dal (S) should have honoured its powersharing pact with the BJP. ''If they (JD(S) had done some agreement, then it should have been honoured,'' Janata Dal (United) General Secretary Shambhu Srivastava told mediapersons when asked about the party's reaction to the tussle of power in Karnataka. If the agreements between political parties were not honoured, then the results are what is happening today.....
