Congress to celebrate N D Tiwari's birthday as 'Vikas Diwas'

Dehra Dun, Oct 6 (UNI) Uttarakhand Pradesh Congress Committee today announced that it would celebrate 82nd birthday of former Chief Minister and Andhra Pradesh Governor Narayan Dutt Tiwari as 'Vikas Diwas' on October 18.

UPCC General Secretary Dhirendra Pratap, in a party release, apprised that 'Vikas Diwas' would be celebrated throughout the country. He said the main celebration would be held at Jairam Ashram at Hardwar under the chairmanship of former Vice-Chancellor of Uttarakhand Sanskrit University, Brahmaswaroop Brahmachari.

Mr Pratap said Chief Minister Bhuvan Chandra Khanduri would be invited to the function. Congress State Chief Yashpal Arya would also be present on the occasion.

The General Secretary said similar celebrations would be held at Hyderabad, Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chandigarh, Lucknow, Allahabad, Meerut and all the districts of Uttarakhand.

''Pad Yatras'', meetings and seminars would be held as part of the celebration, he said.
