Congress leaders discuss latest developments

Bangalore, Oct 6 (UNI) Congress Legislature Party today discussed the latest political developments and decided to act after the Bharatiya Janata Party withdrew its support to Janata Dal (Secular).

Briefing newsmen here Legislature wing leader N Dharam Singh said the party would discharge its responsibility only after the BJP completed its excercise. The party in charge was to arrive in the city in a day or two and elicit views of the legislators. The final decision on future course of action lied with the high command, he added.

He said several rounds of talks had already been held already and the party had also petitioned Governor Rameswar Thakur about the developments. He had also directed the party legislators not to leave the capital in view of fast developing events.

Senior party leader Ramesh Kumar, who was also present, felt convening of the legislature by JD(S) government on October 18 in the event of BJP withdrawing its support would amount to illegality and the party would appeal to the Governor to advance the date to enable Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy to prove his strength.

UP: Another ragging incident in Agra

PCB provides Shoaib a surprise breather

Lahore, Oct 6 (UNI) The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has given some respite to maverick pacer Shoaib Akhtar after it surprisingly excluded the main allegation of hitting fellow pacer Mohammad Asif with a bat in South Africa from their chargesheet.
