Calorx Foundation to set up school at Mundra SEZ

Ahmedabad, Oct 6 (UNI) Calorx Education Research Foundation (CERF) today signed an MoU with Mundra Port and Special Economic Zone (SEZ) for setting up education facilities from nursery to senior secondary school at Mundra SEZ.

''This school will be functional for nursery to fifth standard by academic year 2008-09 at Mundra SEZ, it will expand further to secondary and higher secondary classes in the subsequent years,'' CERF Director Hiten Vasant told reporters.

''The school will impart education in English medium. Currently it has set up the Calorx School, a candidate school for PYP, MYP and DP (the International Baccalaureate standards),'' Mr Vasant said.

The Calorx Foundation was founded in 1995 and is active in the field of education. The Calorx Foundation's Delhi Public School in Ahmedabad has become one of the leading English medium schools in Gujarat. The Visamo Kids Foundation supports nearly 40 children from underprivileged families studying in leading English medium schools in Ahmedabad. Calorx - Prerna is a school for children for dyslexics.

Mundra Port and SEZ is one of the largest private sector ports in India, promoted by the Adani Group.

The Adani Group, founded in 1988, is one of the fastest growing business houses in India. It has business interests in ports, power, infrastructure, real-estate, trading, edible oils, gas distribution and logistics.

Mundra SEZ is planned over 32,300 acres and will be developed over multiple phases for large industrial, infrastructure and commercial developments including residential accommodations, retail facilities, schools, healthcare facilities and other support infrastructure at Mundra.

Jaya disagrees with Karunanidhi's explanation on bandh

BJP to meet Governor Thakur tomorrow

Bangalore, Oct 6 (UNI) The Bharatiya Janata Party will tomorrow submit a letter to Karnataka Governor Rameshwar Thakur to formally withdraw support to the Janata Dal (Secular), bringing an end to the 20-month-old arrangement between the two parties. Speaking to UNI over phone from New Delhi, state party chief D V Sadananda Gowda said a meeting of the party's legislators had been convened tomorrow morning before meeting the Governor. Manipur dominates climbing competition

Imphal, Oct 6:  Manipur continued to dominate the ninth North East Zone Climbing competition with the state team winning gold medals in the boys and girls events on the third day here today. The hosts had so far won seven gold, three silver and one bronze while Meghalaya had managed two silver and Arunachal Pradesh one silver medal. More than 100 competitors from Manipur, Assam, Nagaland, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim and Tripura are participating in the competition. UNI.....
