Bangalore, Oct 6 (UNI) The political turmoil in Karnataka shifted back from New Delhi with the return of senior BJP leader B S Yediyurappa and party state chief D V Sadananda Gowda who are expected to submit a letter of withdrawing support to coalition partner Janata Dal (Secular) to Governor Rameshwar Thakur tomorrow.
Speaking to newsmen on his arrival at the airport, Mr Yediyurappa vowed to bring back his party to power in the state on its own by winning the next Assembly elections. BJP legislators would be meeting in the morning before submitting the letter to the Governor.
The Opposition Congress has adopted a 'wait and watch' principle.
The Congress Legislature Party (CLP) meet, held in the morning was inconclusive with leaders deciding to wait until BJP submits its withdrawal letter.
Meanwhile, Legislative Assembly Speaker Krishna adjourned to October 12 hearing on a petition demanding disqualification of 37 JD(S) legislators, including Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy.
Activists of Rashtriya Basava Dal burnt effigy of Mr Deve Gowda in protest against not keeping up his promise to transfer power to BJP.
