BJP terms JD(S) move as 'worst-ever betrayal'

New Delhi, Oct 6 (UNI) Terming it the ''worst-ever betrayal'' by any political party in the country, BJP leader M Venkaiah Naidu today said people will not forgive the JD(S) for backtracking on its promise for transfer of power in Karnataka.

Emerging out of the party's Parliamentary Board meeting called to take a decision regarding withdrawal of support to the Janata Dal(Secular) led government in Karnataka, Mr Naidu said ''People will not excuse the party. They will give a befitting reply.'' BJP sources said the JD(S) had stated in clear terms that there can be no consensus on the issue of transfer of chief ministership to Deputy Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa of the BJP.

KARACHI, Oct 6 (Reuters) Reeling after a string of international defeats, Pakistan's hockey bosses have lifted a ban on their most experienced player, Sohail Abbas, for the Champions Trophy. The Pakistan hockey Federation recalled Abbas, a penalty corner specialist, and three other senior players for a training camp to be held from October 18 ahead of the Champions Trophy in December. Abbas, Ghazanfar Ali, Waseem Ahmed and Dilawar Hussain were last year declared persona non grata in Pakistani hockey after failing.....

NE Regional RD review meeting to be held on October 9-10
