Aged couple murdered, mob block highway

Allahabad, Oct 6 (UNI) Masked men bludgeoned to death an elderly couple in the Soraun area here.

The murderers barged into the house of one Pavan Kumar at village Malak Harihar last night to commit robbery.

On being opposed, the miscreants hit hard on Kumar and his wife's head with an iron rod.

Irked over the incident, a mob blocked the Pratapgarh-Allahabad highway, leading to a trafficjam.

The jam could only be cleared after senior officials reached the spot and assured action against the killers.

A manhunt had been launched.

BSNL to launch special SIM for foreign tourists

Thiruvananthapuram, Oct 6: The Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) would soon launch a special prepaid SIM for foreign tourists visiting the country, Chief General Manager (CGM) of Kerala K S Sreenivasan said today. Talking to newspersons here, he said the validity of the SIM would be for 30 days, and its sale value would be Rs 5,618 and talktime value of Rs 3,000. Candlelight vigil in Delhi for an end to Myanmar atrocities
