Indore, Sep 19: Fed up with frequent ragging by seniors, a college student committed suicide by hanging at his residence here yesterday, police said.
Police said Durgesh Shukla, who hailed from Khandwa, was a first year student for MCA course at the Pioneer College here. He shared a private accommodation with other students.
When his friends returned from college last evening, they found the room locked from inside. Durgesh was found hanging in the room, which was broke open.
A suicide note left behind by Durgesh said he was ending his life as he lost self-confidence due to frequent ragging.
Meanwhile, Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad called a strike in all colleges here today to protest the incident.
