Resentment, anger and wordy duels between workers of various political parties marked the process which saw huge rush at the offices of the Returning Officers in most parts of Karnataka.
Hundreds of activists belonging to the three frontline parties -- Congress, Janata Dal (S) and BJP -- who were denied tickets, openly expressed their anger and entered the fray as rebel candidates.
The BJP today issued B-forms to its official nominees while JD(S) and the Congress had already distributed them to its party workers.
All the three parties had decided not to field their candidates in Belgaum City. Instead they would support pro-Kannada activists against incumbent Maharashtra Ekikaran Samiti which supported inclusion of Belgaum in Maharashtra.
