Tata Teleservices launches first mobile browser

Kolkata, Sep 13 (UNI) Targetting the growing mass of net savvy mobile phone users, Tata Teleservices today launched 'Samsung Explore,' country's first mobile web browser in association with Samsung Telecommunication Announcing this here, Tata Teleservices Limited president Pankaj Sethi said the handset, fully optimised for mobile interent, would provide full access to all internet sites from outdoors offering both mailing and browsing facilities.

"This innovation is an important step in extending the power of the interent on to mobile devices. The news capabilities of the mobile browser with the faster access of CDMA, will provide web experience three to four times faster than GPRS," he said at the national launch of the handset.

Claiming that the mobile web browser of Tata Indicom was first to be introduced in the country, Mr.Sethi said unlimited net accessing through the device would cost Rs ten per day to Rs. 99 a month.

Priced at Rs. 5,499, the handset is packed with various multi media features, including 1.27-inch colour screen, 0.3 mega-pixel digital camera, FM radio, expandable memory, MP3 player, speaker phone, Indian calender and cricket scorer application, Mr.Hyunbi Kim, Vice-President and Head-CDMA Division, Samsung Telecommunications India, said.

"This is targeted at consumers who aspire to reap the benefits of high-quality mobility," he said.

'Samsung Explore'comes with a 'Go active' connection that offers incoming facility for a year and free 1,000 minutes Tata-to-Tata Calling at no extra cost.

Pushpak trainee plane crashes in Punjab

Patiala, Sep 13: A Pushpak training airplane crashed at the Patiala Aviation Club airport here today, official sources said. The trainee pilot however had a narrow escape as he managed to wriggle out of the aircraft after it had caught fire on the runway.
