Oppn again disrupts RS question hour over JPC demand

New Delhi, Sep 6 (UNI) Noisy scenes staged by the Opposition over their demand for constitution of a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) on the nuclear deal today again led to the adjournment of the House for one hour.

As soon as the House assembled for the day and Chairman Hamid Anasari wanted to proceed with the Question Hour, senior BJP leaders, including Sushma Swaraj, other NDA and some UNPA members were on their feet, demanding that the nuclear deal issue be examined by a JPC rather than a panel consisting only of the UPA and the Left parties.

The Chairman appealed to the members, some of whom had left their seats and were seen advancing towards the well of the House, to resume their place and let the Question Hour proceed.

However, the members continued to make their demand vociferously. Amid the din, barely two minutes after the House assembled, the Chair announced its adjournment for one hour till 1200 hrs.
