JeM district commander surrenders in Doda

Jammu, Sep 4: The District Commander of Jash-e-Mohammad (JeM) outfit today laid down his arms before the troops in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir, official sources said here.

JeM district commander Abu Mavia, who was active in Doda region for the past five years and listed as a hardcore militant, surrendered before 10 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) with two weapons including one AK 47 rifle, sources said adding, later Army handed over the militant to the Doda police for interrogation.

Srinagar, Dec 27: About three thousand vehicles, including those carrying passengers, are stranded on the 300-km-long Srinagar-Jammu national highway, which has been closed since yesterday due to landslides and snowfall. Man jumps from Tawi bridge, dies

Jammu, Dec 21 (UNI) A unidentified middle-aged man allegedly committed suicide by jumping into the Tawi river here today, police said. According to police, the person jumped from the city's busiest bridge on the Tawi. Police personnel fished out the unconscious person from the river and immediately shifted him to the Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu where the doctors pronounced him as brought dead, sources said.
