Youth dies after assault by JMM supporters

Jamshedpur, Sep 2 (UNI) A-24-year-old youth was beaten to death, allegedly by the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) supporters, when they were celebrating party candidate Suman Mahto's victory in the Jamshedpur Parliamentary byelections at Sonari area here.

Police said the deceased, Santosh Yadav, was returning home from vegetable market when a group of inebriated JMM activists beat him severely last night following an altercation.

The youth was rushed to Tata Main Hospital in a critical condition and succumbed to his injuries today.

An FIR was lodged with the Sonari police station against some unknown hooligans but none was arrested in conneciton with the incident, police said.

Meanwhile, the local unit of the BJP demanded immediate arrest of the culprits and said that if police failed to arrest them, the party would gherao the police station tomorrow.

Chinese delegation meets Haryana Agri Minister

Drowned youth's body recovered

Indore, Sep 3 (UNI) The body of one of the two youths, who drowned yesterday in the Patal Pani waterfall, about 25 km from here, was found this afternoon, police said. The body of Chirag Vagle (30), who was an engineer at Pithampur Industries, was recovered. Harish Mehtani's (18) body was recovered yesterday itself. The duo were swept away when they had gone to the Patal Pani picnic spot along with their friends at around 1030 hours. Both reportedly.....

No difference of opinion on power transfer: Kumaraswamy

Shimoga, Karnataka, Sep 3 (UNI) Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy today said there was no difference of opinion in handing over the power to the coalition partner, BJP on October 3.
