Warrant to attach former MLA's property

Chhapra, Sep 3(UNI) A local court today issued a warrant to attach property of former MLA from Masrakh, Tarkeshwar Singh in connection with kidnapping and subsequent killing during Lok Sabha elections held in 1999.

Judicial Magistrate B B Tripathi issued the warrant after Mr Singh failed to appear before the court in connection with the case despite proclamation notice issued against him earler.

According to the charges, Mr Singh was involved in kidnapping and subsequent killing of one Balister Singh alias Manoj Singh of Pipra Sinehi village under Panapur police station area in Saran district on September 27 during repolling in Chhapra Lok Sabha Constituency in parliamentary elections in 1999.

The police had closed the case but it was reopened when nephew of the deceased Ashok Singh lodged a case in the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate alleging insensitivity of the police in investigating into the case.

Monica case: Court reserves order

Bhopal, Sept 3 (UNI) A local court today reserved its order in a fake passport case in which underworld don Abu Salem's starlet-girlfriend Monica Bedi was acquitted recently. District and Sessions Judge Renu Sharma reserved the order after hearing counsels of both sides. Monica, her father Prem Kumar Bedi, uncle Purushottam Bedi and brother were present in the court. Prosecution had filed a petition before the court after Monica was acquitted by Chief Judicial Magistrate A K Srivastava's court. Public.....

Khwaja Yunus case: HC raps police, Home department

Mumbai, Sep 3 (UNI) The Bombay High Court today came down heavily on the police and the Home department for not disclosing certain facts regarding the alleged custodial death of Sayyad Khwaja Yunus, an accused in the Ghatkopar bomb blast case of December 2002. It also directed a local court at Parner in Ahmednagar district to decide on a pending B-summary proceeding within four weeks time. Police remand of Vijender Arora extended for 2 more days

New Delhi, Sept 3 (UNI) A city court today extended the police remand of Vijender Arora, co- accused in the school sex racket case, for two more days after the investigation was transferred to the crime branch of Delhi police. Arora was arrested and sent into a day-long police custody yesterday. The main accused in the case, Uma Khurana, was also remanded into judicial custody till September 15 by the duty magistrate yesterday. Khurana, senior mathematics teacher in Government.....
