UCO Bank increases interests for NRI term deposits

Kolkata, Sep 3 (UNI) UCO Bank today announced upward revision of interest rates on short term NRI deposits for the period of one and two years.

Company sources today said the rates for NRE term deposits held for the period of one and two years had been hiked to 5.28 per cent from 5.25 per cent in USD.

In terms of GBP, EUR, Jap Yen, Aussie Dols and Can Dols the rates had been increased to 5.82 from 5.54, 4.03 from 3.79, 0.39 from 0.24, 6.36 from 6.14 and 4.24 from 4.14 respectively.

Fleeing lorry fatally knocks down chasing Policeman

Hyderabad, Sep 3 (UNI) A police Sub-Inspector (SI) was run over and killed by a lorry when he tried to stop it at Nampally area early today. Animal activist decries ill-treatment on dogs

Aizawl, Sep 3 (UNI) Animal rights activist N W Laldingliana today condemned the manner in which dogs are butchered. Mizoram Chapter of People for Animals President Laldingliana said here that he had filed a complaint, under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960, against the ill-treatment meted out to dogs.
