Tripura CM invites private investment in health and education

Agartala, Sept 3 (UNI) Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar has invited private investment in health and education sectors.

Addressing the public gathering here yesterday on the occasion of first anniversary celebration of Tripura Medical College run by Global Educational Net(GENET), Sarkar said the Left front in the state would extend full support to outside investors in health and education sectors.

"We had forced the centre to include service sector investment in Northeastern Industrial Policy--2007 for development of the region and now any individual or organisation keen on investing in the two sectors would get the same benefit like other industrial sectors," Chief Minister maintained.

He, however, made it clear that private investment in the state would be encouraged only when the investors give commitment to safeguard the interests of the state and poor section of people.

Besides, Tripura Medical, Kerala-based GENET runs medical colleges and educational institutions in Nepal, Dubai, St Kitts and South Africa. It has been persuading with Nepal based Surya Air to launch small aircraft connecting all airfields of the region by this year. UNI
