Three members of family commit suicide

Kollam, Sep 3(UNI) Three members of a family were found dead on a railway track at Panayam in the district today.

Police said they were hailing from the nearby area and allegedly committed suicide by jumping before a speedy train.

The deceased were identified as Sasidharan (45), his wife Vasantha (40) and daughter Sari (18).

Family problems were said to be the reason for the suicide, he added.

Kalpatta, Sep 3 (UNI) Eminent Novelist C Radhakrishnan has been chosen for this year's 'Padmaprabha Puraskaram' for his outstanding contribution to Malayalam literature. A committee comprising writers P Valsala, Unnikrishnan Puthur and media personality T N Gopakumar selected Mr Radhakrishnan for the prestigious award instituted by the Padmaprabha Memorial Trust, its Chairman M P Veerendrakumar MP said in a release here today. Vizhinjam global tender receives 21 bidders
