Sugar prices rally on festival demand

Navi Mumbai, Sep 3 (UNI) Prices of sugar today rallied on fresh seasonal bulk consumers demand in the face of lesser stocks, traders at the wholesale sugar market said.

Sugar in small and medium grades (per quintal) rose by Rs ten and Rs 20 respectively on heavy festival demand by bulk consumers and retailers.

Ex-mill small and medium grades (per quintal) also went up by Rs 15 and Rs ten owing to increased buying support by millers in the face of reduced stock supply.

Following are the spot wholesale rates per quintal: Small grade: Rs 1,310/1,376, Medium grade: Rs 1,365/1,486.

Ex-mill small grade: Rs 1,305/1,330, Medium grade: Rs 1,345/1,390.

Five booked in newly married death case

Fatehgarh Sahib, Sept 3 (UNI) The Fatehgarh Sahib police has registered a case against in-laws of a newly married woman, who died under mysterious circumstances here. Police has booked the deceased woman's father-in-law Amarjit Singh, mother in-law Surjit Kaur, sisters-in-law Gurdeep Kaur, Jaswinder Kaur and husband Jatinderpal Singh. As per the relatives of the deceased, village Landran(SAS Nager) resident Bhag Singh's 24-year-old daughter Parminder Kaur was married to Jatinderpal Singh, a resident of Mohalla Jattpura in Sirhind two years.....

Reliance gets high rating, target price of Rs 880

Malnutrition, increased IMR bad indicators: HRD minister

Ranchi, Sep 3 (UNI) Expressing concern over malnutrition among children and increase in Infant Moratality Rate(IMR) in Jharkhand, Human Resources Development Minister Bandhu Tirkey today sought awareness among the people about government efforts in this direction. Addressing a state level workshop here, Mr Tirkey said about 59 per cent of children below three years were facing malnutrition and the data among adults was above 50 per cent. Mr Tirkey said infant death rate had also increased and now stood at 69.....
