Steps to check copying in School Board semester exams

Chandigarh, Sept 3 (UNI) The Haryana Board of School has made elaborate arrangements to check copying and other malpractices during the Semester Examinations commencing from September 5.

While giving this information, an official spokeperson said that Section 144 CrPC had been promulgated by the respective District Magistrates to check outside interference. She said that 1809 centre superintendents and 16,000 supervisors had been deputed on duty.

For effective checking of centres, 404 flying squads had been formed, which include 172 squads of Section Officers, 20 squads of Deputy Commissioners, 20 squads of District Education Officers, 47 squads of Sub-Divisional Officers, 47 squads of Block Education Officers, 20 Rapid Action Force, 20 Special Task Force, 47 question paper squads of Board Officers at district and sub-divisional levels, 5 squads of officers deputed at control rooms, 4 squads of Board officers to be operated from Board Headquarters and one each squad of Board Chairman and Board Secretary.

She said that 11,12,961 candidates would appear at 1809 examination centres. The examinations would be conducted both in morning and evening sessions.

Three more members of an inter-state gang arrested

Karkala, Karnataka, Sep 3 (UNI) Three more members of an inter-State gang involved various crimes in Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka were arrested today. Police had arrested six members of the same gang on August 23. Two gets life imprisonment in murder case

Sasaram, Sept 3 (UNI) A fast track court today sentenced a man and his son to life imprisonment in a murder case. The court also slapped a fine of Rs 20,000 on both accused. Fast track court judge Bipin Bihari Pandey found both the accused guilty of murdering Shalik Yadav, a native of Baraiya village under Nauhatta police station area in Rohtas district.
