RSS take stock of political situation in Karnataka

Mysore, Sep 3 (UNI) With Karnataka imminent to become the first state in the South to have a BJP Chief Minister, Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS) leaders held a two-day closed door meeting here to discuss the political situation in the state.

Though the state BJP leaders asserted that it was a meeting to discuss the organisational issues, sources said the 'baithak' discussed at length the future course of action, once the party man becomes the Chief Minister of Karnataka. It also discussed how to sustain the government without a hitch and strengthen the BJP by the time for next elections in April/May, 2009.

The meeting, which concluded last night, was attended by top leaders of RSS and Karnataka state BJP President D V Sadananda Gowda, Deputy Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa and C H Vijayshankar, MP, and more then 300 RSS workers.

Speaking at Hunsur in this district today, Deputy Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa maintained that the meeting discussed only organisational issues. It had nothing to do with the government and political issues, he claimed.

The baithak was dominated by the sangh parivar and understandably media was barred from the vicinity of the meeting. Even press photographers were not allowed to the meeting.

No leaders from either BJP nor RSS were ready to reveal the details of the meeting though media persons waited outside the meeting place last night.
