Rathwa announces slew of measures for Kheda stations

Nadiad, Sep 3 (UNI) Announcing a slew of measures for the upkeep of railway stations in Kheda district here yesterday, Minster of State for Railways Naranbhai Rathwa said that Barejadi-Kanjari railway station will be allocated Rs 4 crore for improving its infrastructural facilities.

Speaking to media at the Nadiad railway station, Mr Rathwa, accompanied by State Union Minister for Petroleum Dinsha Patel, said that the Geratpur railway station in Memdavad division will be given Rs 50 lakh so that its platform can be raised.

For accommodating 25 bogies on the Uttarsanda platform, Mr Rathwa announced Rs 75 lakh, while for extending the platform of Kanjari-Boriavi railway station Rs 1.25 lakh will be allocated. For surfacing of Barejadi railway station another Rs 30 lakh will be allocated.

Congress demands probe into attack on J

Srinagar, Sep 3 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Congress has demanded a probe into the militant attack on its president Peerzada Mohammad Sayeed in north Kashmir yesterday. PCC vice-president Bashir Ahmad Magray and six other senior leaders of the party, in a joint statement issued here today, condemned the attack on Peerzada Sayeed, who is also Haj and Auqaf minister, by ''unidentified militants'' at Puthkha, Pattan, in north Kashmir district of Baramulla. 'Operation stir' by medicos, medical practitioners

Chennai, Sep 3 (UNI) Wearing black badges, medical practitioners and medicos across Tamil Nadu today staged a demonstration in protest against Union Health Ministry's firm directive on one-year rural posting for doctors. A cross-section of medical practitioners at Chennai Government Hospital, Stanley Government Hospital, Kilpauk Medical College and other institutions wore black badges to express their opposition to the compulsory rural posting. They have also planned a token strike on September five and would stage a demonstration on that day......
