Raghbir Singh takes over as New GNDU Dean

Amritsar, Sept (UNI) Dr Raghbir Singh, a senior Professor of the Department of Commerce and Business Management has taken over as Dean, Academic Affairs of the Guru Nanak Dev University here today.

Dr Raghbir Singh who joined the Guru Nanak Dev University in 1985 has 32 years teaching and administrative experience.

Dr Raghbir Singh (56) did his post graduation in Commerce and Doctorate (Ph.D.) from Panjab University, Chandigarh. He got his M Phil in Commerce from Delhi University, Delhi.

Dr. Raghbir Singh has 70 publications to his credit published in various journals of national and international repute.

He has produced so far 14 Ph.Ds. and eighteen M.Phils. He remained Dean Faculty of Economic and Business and also Head of the Department of Commerce and Business Management. Presently, he was also performing the duties as Chairman of Press and Publications Committee.

He has also been associated with a number of academic bodies of national and international repute. He has participated in many conferences and seminars in India and abroad.

Rohtak Commissioner to probe post-Gohana violence

Chandigarh, Sept 3 (UNI) Haryana Government has appointed Commissioner Rohtak Division, J.P. Kaushik as Inquiry Officer, to probe the circumstances and events subsequent to the killing of Rakesh alias Lara in Gohana of district Sonipat on August 27. An official spokesman said that Inquiry Officer would hold a probe regarding this case at Irrigation Rest House, Gohana on September 10. The persons concerned who were present at the time of incident, could produce information and facts before the Inquiry Officer on.....

UCO Bank increases interests for NRI term deposits

Kolkata, Sep 3 (UNI) UCO Bank today announced upward revision of interest rates on short term NRI deposits for the period of one and two years. Company sources today said the rates for NRE term deposits held for the period of one and two years had been hiked to 5.28 per cent from 5.25 per cent in USD. In terms of GBP, EUR, Jap Yen, Aussie Dols and Can Dols the rates had been increased to 5.82 from 5.54, 4.03 from.....
