Police seize huge explosives;Three arrested

Rayagada, Sep 03 (UNI) Rayagada police today arrested three persons and forwarded them to the court after huge cache of explosives were recovered from their possession during a raid yesterday.

Police said during a raid at a godwan in Ambatola village huge explosives containing 3017 detonators, 21 gelatin, 125 pack ammonium nitrate and 107 bundle of codex wire were seized.

Two persons identified as Ipli Chitababa and Ipli Satya were arrested and later forwarded to the court.

Similarly in another raid at Munikhal village, police during a raid recovered 654 detonators, 44 gelatin, 5 kg of sulphur besides 12 kg of chemical agent and arrested one Gana Shankar from his house.

Police said the investigation was on to ascertain where all the three arrested had any link with the left wing ultras.

Khwaja Yunus case: HC raps police, Home department

Mumbai, Sep 3 (UNI) The Bombay High Court today came down heavily on the police and the Home department for not disclosing certain facts regarding the alleged custodial death of Sayyad Khwaja Yunus, an accused in the Ghatkopar bomb blast case of December 2002. It also directed a local court at Parner in Ahmednagar district to decide on a pending B-summary proceeding within four weeks time. Police remand of Vijender Arora extended for 2 more days

New Delhi, Sept 3 (UNI) A city court today extended the police remand of Vijender Arora, co- accused in the school sex racket case, for two more days after the investigation was transferred to the crime branch of Delhi police. Arora was arrested and sent into a day-long police custody yesterday. The main accused in the case, Uma Khurana, was also remanded into judicial custody till September 15 by the duty magistrate yesterday. Khurana, senior mathematics teacher in Government.....

Ashok Malhotra sent into police custody till Sep 12

New Delhi, Sept 3 (UNI) Special CBI judge S K Kaushik today sent Ashok Malhotra, the main accused in the multi-crore DDA land scam case, to judicial custody till September 12. Yesterday, S C Garg, another accused in the case, was sent to judicial custody till September 12. Arguments on their bail application will be heard on September 7. The jail authorities had been instructed by the judge to provide special security to Malhotra and bring him separately from other prison.....
