Police seize huge explosives;Three arrested

Rayagada, Sep 03 (UNI) Rayagada police today arrested three persons and forwarded them to the court after huge cache of explosives were recovered from their possession during a raid yesterday.

Police said during a raid at a godwan in Ambatola village huge explosives containing 3017 detonators, 21 gelatin, 125 pack ammonium nitrate and 107 bundle of codex wire were seized.

Two persons identified as Ipli Chitababa and Ipli Satya were arrested and later forwarded to the court.

Similarly in another raid at Munikhal village, police during a raid recovered 654 detonators, 44 gelatin, 5 kg of sulphur besides 12 kg of chemical agent and arrested one Gana Shankar from his house.

Police said the investigation was on to ascertain where all the three arrested had any link with the left wing ultras.

Varanasi, Sep 3 (UNI) A youth from Manipur allegedly committed suicide at a hotel in Sigra area here today by hanging himself. Krishna Kumar Singh (22), a native of Vishnupur district of Manipur, who had come to the city to appear in an SSB exam, committed suicide at his hotel room in Englishia Line area by hanging himself through the room ventillator, police said. Monica case: Court reserves order

Bhopal, Sept 3 (UNI) A local court today reserved its order in a fake passport case in which underworld don Abu Salem's starlet-girlfriend Monica Bedi was acquitted recently. District and Sessions Judge Renu Sharma reserved the order after hearing counsels of both sides. Monica, her father Prem Kumar Bedi, uncle Purushottam Bedi and brother were present in the court. Prosecution had filed a petition before the court after Monica was acquitted by Chief Judicial Magistrate A K Srivastava's court. Public.....

New Delhi, Sept 3 (UNI) A city court today extended the police remand of Vijender Arora, co- accused in the school sex racket case, for two more days after the investigation was transferred to the crime branch of Delhi police. Arora was arrested and sent into a day-long police custody yesterday. New Delhi, Sept 3 (UNI) Special CBI judge S K Kaushik today sent Ashok Malhotra, the main accused in the multi-crore DDA land scam case, to judicial custody till September 12. Yesterday, S C Garg, another accused in the case, was sent to judicial custody till September 12. Arguments on their bail application will be heard on September 7.
