Physically challenged boy killed

Mandya, Sep 3 (UNI) A physically challenged boy was killed on the spot when a car in which Janata Dal (United) Karnataka unit President Somashekar was travelling, allegedly ran over him here this afternoon.

Police said the mishap occurred when the driver tried to avoid a collision with a vehicle coming from the opposite direction.

However, Mr Somasekhar, who was unhurt, continued his journey in another car.

The driver was arrested.

Darjeeling, Sep 3 (UNI) Landslide triggered by week-long torrents cut off Darjeeling, the Queen of Hills, from the rest of West Bengal. Darjeeling saw landslides at six places between Tindharia and Rong-Tong of Kurseong sub-division this morning.
