Nagaland Governor on dual charge of AP

Kohima, Sep 3: Nagaland Governor K Sankaranarayanan will leave for Itanagar today to take over the post of Governorship of Arunachal Pradesh from tomorrow.

According to official sources here Governor Sankaranarayanan would leave Kohima today for Itanagar, where he will stay for the night and will attend the swearing-in ceremony as the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh tomorrow morning.

He will continue to hold the dual charge until the appointment of a new Governor for Arunachal Pradesh.

It may be mentioned here that he had held the same post for a brief period when the then Governor of Arunachal Pradesh was on a leave.

Kohima, May 19: Two persons were killed when a high wall collapsed on their thatched house in the Purana Bazar of Dimapur yesterday. Official sources said here today that the deceased - the father and his son - were having their dinner when the wall of a private nursing home caved in. The thatched house comprised nine rooms, but the other occupants escaped unhurt. Sources said the collapse occurred due to heavy rainfall.....

Nagaland: NSCN(K) rejects JFWC ceasefire

Kohima, July 27: The NSCN(K) has rejected the July 24 declaration of ceasefire of the Joint Forum Working Committee(JFWC) of the Nagaland Gaon Burah Federation(GB) and Nagaland Dobhashis Association (DB). It has also ridiculed the declaration of ceasefire, asserting that the faction had neither been consulted nor invited for deliberations in this regard.
