Mahesh assumes charge as MUDA Chairman

Mysore, Sep 3 (UNI) Janata Dal(Secular) party leader and leading developer S R Mahesh has been nominated as the chairman of the Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) and assumed charge here today.

Later speaking to newsmen Mr Mahesh said that he would give top priority to provide shelters to poor and middle class people in the city. Even Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy had asked him to take up new layouts in the city.

Balasore, Sep 3 (UNI) A man was arrested from his Gopalpur residence for allegedly killing his son and torturing other children after police received a complaint from his 10-year-old daughter. Police registered a case and took Maheswar Senapati in custody last night after his daughter Gitarani lodged a complaint. Mandya, Sep 3 (UNI) A physically challenged boy was killed on the spot when a car in which Janata Dal (United) Karnataka unit President Somashekar was travelling, allegedly ran over him here this afternoon. Police said the mishap occurred when the driver tried to avoid a collision with a vehicle coming from the opposite direction. However, Mr Somasekhar, who was unhurt, continued his journey in another car. The driver was arrested. UNI.....
