List of repartriates from Telangana by month end: Minister

Hyderabad, Sep 3 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Higher Education Minister D Srinivas today said the list of employees to be repatriated from the Telangana Region under GO 610, which provides for jobs to locals, will be ready by month end.

Talking to the media after a Cabinet sub-committe met Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy and discussed the progress of the GO implementation, Mr Srinivas said there was no need for Telangana people to worry.

The Congress Government had assured Telangana people that the GO, issued over 20 years ago, would be implemented in letter and spirit and started the exercise, he said.

Mr Srinivas said a list of non-locals from the districts would be available soon and a comprehensive state-wide list available by the month end after reports from districts reach the state capital.

NEW YORK, Sept 3 (Reuters) Former champion Svetlana Kuznetsova booked a quarter-final berth at the US Open today after beating Victoria Azarenka of Belarus 6-2 6-3. It was an efficient 74-minute performance from the fourth-seeded Russian, champion in 2004, who set up a meeting with Hungarian Agnes Szavay or Julia Vakulenko of Ukraine. Woman run over by Blueline bus, dies

New Delhi, Sep 3 (UNI) Killer Blueline buses today claimed another victim when a woman was run over by a bus in South Delhi. Meena (35) was run over by Blueline bus operating on route no 588 between Tilak Nagar and Nehru Place, while she was getting down from the bus at Motibagh at around 1000 hours, police said. Meena died on the spot. The driver, however, fled with the bus, police said. UNI.....
