Kasuri may lead delegation to UN session


Islamabad, Sept 3: Foreign Minister Khurshid Kasuri will most probably lead Pakistan"s delegation at the 62nd session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York later this month. According to informed sources, a decision in this regard has already been taken at the highest level. Apparently the decision is prompted by preoccupation of the president and the prime minister with the volatile political situation in the country, requiring them to stay back in the country.

The opening of the 62nd session of the UN General Assembly is scheduled for September 18.

A fake call from India last weekend almost led to war with Pakistan

Islamabad, Dec.6 (ANI): Pakistan went into a state of 'high alert' last weekend after President Asif Ali Zardari received a threatening phone call made by someone who said he was Indian External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee.Several political, diplomatic and security sources have confirmed to the Dawn that for nearly 24 hours last weekend, the incident continued to send jitters across the world. To some world leaders the probability of an accidental war appeared very high.It all started late on.....
