ISA signs Mou with Taiwan counterpart

Bangalore, Sep 3 (UNI) The India Semiconductor Association (ISA), the trade body representing Indian Semiconductor driven industry today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Taiwan Semiconductor Industry Association (TSIA) to develop business ties and exchanges of semiconductor companies in two countries.

The MoU was signed by S Janakiraman, Chairman, ISA and Frank C Huang, Chairman, TSIA in Taiwan.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Janakiraman said the two organistions would cooperate in activities, including foreign partnerships and promoting semiconductor sector in international exhibitions and seminars.

Dr Huang said ''We see immense potential for successful partnerships between our member companies. Both countries have inherent strengths in this field and industry can definitely forge a winning partnership''.

ISA President Poornima Senoy said the key objective of the MoU was to foster business relationship among member companies. ''Our two associations may represent each other on various issues to promote the interest of the Semiconductor Industries in our countries with prior consultation and agreement to such representation'' Ms Poornima added.

Bajaj to initiate court proceedings on TVS

New Delhi, Sept 3: In the ongoing tussle between Bajaj Motor and TVS Motor Company over alleged infringement of its DTS-i technology, Bajaj today said it has a strong case against TVS and will initiate court proceedings against TVS if it does not withdraw its products from the market. ''TVS's claim of the technology being 70 years old does not make sense since its only material to know who holds the patent for the product,'' Bajaj Motor's Vice President-Marketing S Sridhar.....

Hyundai Motor August sales registers 7.7% growth

New Delhi, Sept 3 (UNI) Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL), the country's second largest car manufacturer registered a steady increase of 7.7 per cent in its total number of sales to 28,394 cars, domestic and exports combined, in the month of August, 2007 as compared to 26,374 sold in the same period last year. The domestic sales in August 2007 accounted for 16,138 units while 12,256 units were exported, said a statement. Exports rose by 19.3 per cent from 10,273 units.....

Russia rules out return to Cold War-era : Lavrov

Moscow, Sep 3 (UNI) Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavorov today ruled out possibility of return to a Cold War-era stressing that there were no 'system-like contradiction' in the relations between Moscow and Washington. ''There are no system-like contradictions between Russia and the United States, which shows that there exist development prospects for those relations,'' Mr Lavrov said in his annual address at the Moscow Institute of International Relations.
