Indian Telecom growth story rings louder


New Delhi, Sept 03: According to an announcement made by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India, 8.06 million Indians got themselves a cell phone during the last one month.

This equals almost twice Singapore's population of 4.5 million and one million more than Sweden's seven million people. By any measure, this is the maximum number of subscribers India has ever added in a month.

TRAI ensures no more unsolicited calls

New Delhi, Sept 1: The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) today ensured that giving a sigh of relief from irritating unsolicated calls, the telecom watchdog today ensured that the war against unsolicited marketing calls has begun. ''To stop unsolicited calls, a subscriber have to register himself in the National Do Not Call Registry (NDNCR) by calling his service provider,'' TRAI said in a statement today. The subscriber will get a registration reference number within 48 hours and will stop getting.....
