Hyundai registers steady growth


Chennai, Sep 3: Hyundai Motors, one of the leading car manufacturers in India has registered a steady increase in sales, selling 28,394 cars, domestic and exports combined, in August 2007 as against 26,374 sold in August 2006.

According to a company release here today, the domestic sales in August 2007 accounted for 16,138 units, while 12,256 units were exported as against 10,273 units last year, marking a 19.3 per cent rise in exports.

The overall sales recorded a growth of 7.7 per cent in August 2007 over the same month last year, the release added.

Cars go cheaper after cut in Cenvat tax

Mumbai, Dec 9: After the Indian government announced a 20,000cr stimulus package to counter the global economic crisis the automakers have decided to pass on the benefits of tax cut to consumers. After the tax cut announcement the car prices are down between Rs 6000 to Rs 76,000.Maruti Suzuki's 800 will cost Rs 6000 less after the new tax cuts. SX4 Sedan and Sedan D'zire will be about Rs 20,000 cheaper. Hatchback prices (Alto, WagonR and Zen), too, are down.....
