Hooda greets people on the occasion of Janmashtami

Chandigarh, Sept 3 (UNI) Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today greeted the people on the auspicious occasion of Janmashtami being celebrated all over the country with great religious zeal and zest.

In a message issued here today, the Chief Minister said that the festival of Janmashtami, which is marked to celebrate the birthday of Lord Krishna, teaches to face all the ordeals of life boldly.

He said that the fesitval had great significance even in modern times and spiritual life and should be celebrated with traditional fervour and gaiety as these help in further strengthening cultural fabric and communal harmony in the country.

Fleeing lorry fatally knocks down chasing Policeman

Hyderabad, Sep 3 (UNI) A police Sub-Inspector (SI) was run over and killed by a lorry when he tried to stop it at Nampally area early today. Secretary, UP Board of High Schools, guilty of contempt: SC

New Delhi, Sept 3 (UNI) The Supreme Court has found the Secretary, Uttar Pradesh Board of High Schools and Intermediate Education, and a school teacher guilty of contempt of court and imposed a fine of Rs 2000 each on the two contemnors. MICLUN warns of exposing ''corrupt officials''

Aizawl, Sep 3 (UNI) The Mizoram Cultivators and Labourers Union (MICLUN) has warned of revealing names of 'corrupt officials' in the state government at a rally slated for September 19.
