TN: Four youths nabbed

Tiruchirapalli, Sep 3: Police have arrested four youths, including two students, for their alleged attempts to rob people at Pudukottai village, near here, yesterday.

Police said the arrests were effected based on a tip-off.

The arrested were identified as Rajesh, a class XII student hailing from Karur, Kumaravel, a student of Karur Government Arts College, Gowtham and Arul.

Tiruchirapalli, July 26: The Tamil Nadu Government has ordered the appointment of 8,795 Anganwadi workers and assistants this year, Local Administration Minister M K Stalin said. Tiruchirapalli, July 21: The Tamil Nadu government's inordinate delay in taking up a concrete Comprehensive Flood Prevention Scheme (CFPS) till date has caused resentment among the people. The PWD had yesterday issued a 'flood alert' to the delta district administrations to take precautionary measures, in view of the Stanley reservoir crossing its Full Reservoir Level (FRL), following heavy inflow from the Karnataka reservoirs. TN: Fire guts plastic goods, furniture

Tiruchirapalli, July 7: Plastic goods and furniture worth about Rs 17 lakh were destroyed in a fire which broke out in two godowns at Pugal Nagar in Kattur area on the city outskirts today. Police said the fire, which broke out in a plastic goods godown, spread to an adjacent room where a private company had stored its furniture. Fire tenderes extinguished the flames, police added.
