Elaborate security in Delhi for Janmashtami celebrations

New Delhi, Sep 3 (UNI) Elaborate security arrangements have been put in place across the national capital for Janmashtami celebrations tomorrow.

As large number of devotees are expected to visit temples, particularly the Laxmi Narayan temple (Birla Mandir), ISKCON and Adhya Katyani Shakti Peeth, from mid-night, police has urged them not to carry handbags, briefcases, parcels or any other battery operated equipment.

Entry into the temples premises will be through DFMDs installed on gates. Devotees will have to remove their footwear before passing through the DFMDs.

Special traffic arrangements have also been made around the temples. Commuters have been advised to avoid using roads leading to the temples to avoid any inconvenience and take alternate routes.

Vehicles will not be permitted on Mandir Marg leading to Birla Mandir between Panchkuian Road, Park Street on Kali Bari Marg, Udyan Marg, Peshwa Road and Scindia Road.

Police have requested devotees to follow directions and diversions provided by the Delhi traffic police staff.
