District Badminton championship from Sept 13

Jalandhar, Sep 3 (UNI) The District Badminton championship would be held here at the Raizada Hans Raj Stadium from September 13 to 16.

District Badminton Association honorary secretary Rajinder Kalsi in a press note issued here today stated that the championship would be held in Seniors, Juniors, Sub-Juniors and Veterans categories.

He said Jalandhar district team, which would be participating in the state-level championship, would be selected on the basis of performance in the district championship.

Chandigarh, Sept 3: State Vigilance Bureau in a major drive against corruption in public sphere has arrested five Gazzetted Officers (GOs) and 19 Non-Gazzetted Officers (NGOs) in 17 different cases last month. Haryana Govt launches Surcharge Waiver Scheme

Hisar, Sept 3 (UNI) Following announcement made by Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, the Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN) and the Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (UHBVN) have launched the 'Surcharge Waiver Scheme' for domestic consumers in urban areas with effect from September 1, 2007. While stating this here today, a spokesman of DHBVN said the scheme will remain open up to November 30, 2007. Punjab: 11 hurt in Sikh-Sacha Sauda clash

Mansa, Sep 3: Eleven persons including two women were injured in a clash between followers of the Sirsa-based Sacha Sauda and Sikhs in Alampur Mandra village, 10 kms from here today. According to police sources the injured included seven Dera supporters. The condition of one of the injured was stated to be serious.
