Archer cries foul against 'bypassing' her admission

Vijayawada, Sep 3 (UNI) International Archer Mandava Rishita today cried foul over not being allotted a medical seat under sports quota at Dr NTR University of Health Sciences (NTRUHS) though the sport of archery enjoyed 'A' category status.

Addressing a press conference here along with Krishna District Archery Association President Cherukuru Satyanarayana, Ms Rishita said ''she was stunned'' as the NTRUHS website did not figure her name in the list of candidates for professional courses.

Ms Rishita alleged the Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh (SAAP) had given priority placement to unauthorised and unrecognised sportsmen during admissions and placed them under 10th priority, while she was placed at 15th.

She also alleged that there were irregularities in certificate verification. Priority was given to the sports persons in 'C' category like Roller Skating and Throwball, bypassing 'A' category archery.

She also threatened to go on a fast to protest against the 'injustice.' UNI CS JJ KK BD1600
