JDS urge HDK not to hand over CM's post to BJP


Udupi, Aug 25: Udupi district unit of the JD(S) today urged Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy to continue as the Chief Minister of Karnataka and not to hand over power to the BJP on October three.

Speaking to media persons here JD(S) district unit President Deviprasad Shetty said the majority of people in the state desired that Mr Kumaraswamy should continue as the Chief Minister as he had 'won their hearts with his sincerity and simplicity.' "The BJP should also realise this and support Mr Kumaraswamy to continue as the Chief Minister in the best interest of the state," he said.

Meanwhile the CPI also urged the JD(S) not to hand over the Chief Minister's post to BJP as it would lead to communal tension.

CPI State Secretariat member Nityananda Swamy warned the JD(S) that if it handed over the post to the BJP 'the interest of the people of the state will be severely harmed.'

K'taka: HDK, DyCM to decide on power transfer

Madurai, Aug 12: Janata Dal (Secular) chief H D Deve Gowda today said the decision to transfer power to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Karnataka would be taken by Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy and Deputy Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa.As per the power-sharing agreement, the transfer is due for October.The coalition government was an 'arrangement' to work for the people, said Gowda, who was here to attend a function to celebrate the 105th birth anniversary.....
