India field first v England after winning toss

LONDON, Aug 21 (Reuters) India won the toss and elected to field first in the opening one-day international against England at Hampshire's Rose Bowl, today.

India, who won the Test series 1-0, gave a place to leg spinner Piyush Chawla, while England welcomed back former skipper Andrew Flintoff.

Teams: England: Alastair Cook, Paul Collingwood (capt), Kevin Pietersen, Ian Bell, Ravi Bopara, Andrew Flintoff, Matthew Prior, Stuart Broad, Monty Panesar, James Anderson, Dimitri Mascarenhas.

'Winning toss and batting crucial for win in Cardiff', says Rodney Hogg
