AP to seek WB assistance for laying rural roads

Hyderabad, Aug 21 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh Cabinet today gave approval for raising Rs 726.75 crore from the World Bank for laying rural roads in five districts at a cost of Rs 967 crore.

The Cabinet decided to approach the World Bank for laying rural roads in the districts of Kadapa, Anantapur, Krishna, Nellore and Mahaboobnagar, State Information Minister A Ramanarayana Reddy told reporters here.

The Government has already taken up on pilot basis laying of roads in rural areas in the districts of Adilabad, Karimnagar and Warangal earlier in the first phase, he added.
