Maharashtra:1.5 lakh pilgrims visit Trimbakeshwar

Nashik, Aug 21: More than 1.5 lakh devotees reached the Lord Shiva temple at Trimbakeshwar to pay obeisance to Lord Shiva on the occasion of Shravan Monday.

Devotees, chanting ''Bum Bum Bhole Jai Shiv Shankar'', flocked the Temple and Kushavarta Teerath since early morning. Many devotees had arrived in Trimbakeshwar on Sunday.

People visited various other temples in the city and district areas, including the renowned Kapaleshwar Temple in Panchavati, Someshwar Temple, Siddeshwar and Teelbhandeshwar Temple.

Thousands of devotees visited these temples throughout the day yesterday and performed religious rites.

Meanwhile, district police have been deployed at various parts of the city to maintain peace on the occasion.

At Trimbakeshwar, police personnel, including 174 police officials, 44 women police, 200 homeguards, 50 women homeguards, have been deployed under the guidance of Deputy Police Superintendent Subhash Pagare.

British-era coins found at Manmad!

Nashik, July 7: As many as 15 silver coins from the British-era have been found in a ruined house near Maruti road in Athwade bazar at Manmad, about 80 km from here.
