Over 800 pilgrims leave for Buddha Amarnath

Jammu, Aug 19 (UNI) A second batch of more than 800 pilgrims left for Baba Buddha Amarnath, close to the Line of Control in bordering district of Poonch, from the Ved Mandir complex here this morning.

Chanting hymns and slogans, more than 600 pilgrims, comprising 498 men, 94 women and 10 children, left for Chattani Baba in 14 buses and two light motor vehicles (LMV) from Ved Mandir while over 200 pilgrims joined the convoy at Akhnoor.

The yatra will reach Poonch by evening and leave will tommorow early in the morning for Buddha Amarnath to have the darshan of Lord Shiva's lingam there, the VHP said in a release.

New Delhi, June 25 (ANI): Geologists have discovered 'Asia's largest' iron ore deposit in northeast China's Liaoning province, with an estimated reserve of more than 3 billion tons.The newly-found deposit, mainly between 1,200 meters and 1,860 meters underground and spanning a four-km-long, three-km-wide area, is at the Qiaotou Township, Pingshan District, Benxi city, according to Yu Wenli, head of the Liaoning Provincial Bureau of Geology and Mineral Resources Exploration."We found high-grade iron ore even at a depth of 2,015.....
