3,750 NMRS regularised

Tirupati, Aug 18 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Transport Minister K Lakshminarayana today announced that 3,750 NMRS working in various departments of APSRTC were regularised by the state government.

Speaking at the concluding day of the three-day annual cultural festival of APSRTC here, he claimed that APSRTC was one of the biggest transport corporations in the world. It was making Rs 110 crore profit, he added.

APSRTC Vice-Chairman and MD V Dinesh Reddy said the present government was providing more support to the Corporation, when compared to the previous government and called on employees to work unitedly for its development.

Later, he distributed prizes to those who performed cultural programmes.

Earlier, the TTD Chairman B Karunaka Reddy released APSRTC souvenir.

No consular access to indians in Pak jail: Pranab

New Delhi, Mar 14:  The government today informed the Lok Sabha that at least 92 Indian civilian prisoners in Pakistani jails have yet not been given consular access."Besides 390 fishermen and 149 civilian prisoners and 74 PoWs are still languishing in Pakistani jails," External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee said in a written reply.The minister was asked whether the government had any reports of inhuman treatment meted out to Indian prisoners in Paksitan.The minsiter said Indian prisoners released by Pakistan had reported.....
