HEC manufactures new heavy duty model

Ranchi, Aug 18: A Heavy Engineering Corporation Limited (HEC) unit Heavy Machine Tools Plant (HMTP) has manufactured heavy duty central lathe model for facing and turning operations on any heavy work piece with maximum diameter of 1000mm, length 12000mm and weight 15000 kgs.

According to a company release issued here today the machine LC125HD would meet the manufacturing requierment of critical and strategic and items required by the Ministry of Defence(MoD).

HMTP being the only original manufacturer has bagged the order on turnkey basis from Metal and Steel Factory under the Indian Ordinance Factory of MoD.

The machine incoporates the latest trends in design of machine tools with all the contemporary features. The machine encompasses total design, manufacture, supply civli foundation, erection and commissioning along with all accessories tooling and spares against stiff global competition, the release added.

Meanwhile, a MoU was also inked in between the administration of HEC and Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) for manufacturing machines required for modernisation of varios plants of SAIL.
